For Competing Members
EA REGISTRATION 2010
COMPETING MEMBERS
For the first 2 years of the England Athletics Registration Scheme, the Club met the fees, which were £3.50 per person initially, and then £5. This scheme, which is not popular, replaced the former Club Affiliation Fees system.
However, from 2010,the Club can no longer afford to subsidise the fees and,as with most clubs,we are asking EACH COMPETING MEMBER to pay the Club the £5 in addition to the usual Club subscriptions etc upon renewal or on joining for the first time. Athletes 2nd Claim or HCA to K&P should pay via their 1st Claim club.
Our Registration Officer,Clare Nelson, will then register each paying member with England Athletics and pay over the £5 fee ;subsequently,a Membership Card/Number will be issued. At this stage,it is not the intention of the Club to provide EA with individuals' addresses,so any Membership Cards will be forwarded by the Club.
It is likely that any athlete entering Championships individually,or being selected for Representative matches, will be asked for their Registration Number – they may be refused entry without it. However,it is most unlikely that any Leagues or Open Meetings will expect one. Competing Members should thus make their own choice as to whether they wish to pay.
